Our commitment with the environment and with the society is transparent as it is verified by third parties through a certification process.

We voluntarily decide to be audited standards for sustainable forestry certification FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes). These certifications guarantee that we manage our plantations responsibly and comply with rigorous environmental, social and economic requirements. We also promote forestry certification among smallholders financing and providing technical support to a certification group that includes more than 1.700 members.

FSC certification is the only framework supported by environmental NGOs such as Greenpeace and WWF. FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves the natural ecosystem and benefits the lives of local people and workers, all while ensuring it sustains economically viability.

In recognition to our commitment with  sustainability, the rural development and the promotion of forestry small-holders, we obtained the certification Madera Justa (FairWood), the first world Fair Trade certification for the forestry sector.

A section of the standard requires compliance with a list of requirements based in fair commercial relationships between with small-holders and evaluates aspects such as value creation in the rural environment and labor policies.

Our woodchips drying plant for energy uses in Sigüeiro has achieved double Chain of Custody certification as well as BIOMASUD certification as a productor and supplier of solid biofuels, a certification that recognizes the quality and the sustainability of the biomass.

This plant is one of the largest in capacity in Spain and is powered exclusively with renewable energy.
