THE KEY TO COMPETITIVENESS

Greenalia Logistics is the group´s company in charge of logistics activity. Initially, the company was created to give coverage for the group’s logistic needs, subsequently evolving to deliver services to third parties, some related to forestry as well as others in other business activities.

Logistic activity is an important mainstay in the vertical integration strategic objective of the group, the control of this area allows the group being more competitive to export its forest products or biofuels (pellets, woodchips), thus allowing the commercialization of products outside the domestic market, including all areas, storage, stowage, transportation, customs and shipping agency.

Customs services
This department carries out customs clearance of goods for third countries-related operations, goods in transit, Intrastat documentation processing and overall advice on foreign trade, as well as permits processing, authorizations, licenses, quotas, etc.. at the corresponding public and private organizations.
Forestry services
The activity of forestry services is an important part for obtaining the forest products that are commercialized to third parties or to group´s companies for the production of biofuels (pellets or sliver) or electric power.
The group´s strategy is to promote small businesses or self-employed ones who are offered a long-term contract as well as financial support, being the area managers in charge of staff training and machinery selection to make the service competitive.
Within this activity the group also has key machinery such as the biomass baler. The baler allows Greenalia Logistics S.L. to valorize the biomass obtained from forest cut-offs. The process consists in the realization of bales of biomass aimed to produce electric power by combustion. At present, biomass bales are marketed to biomass power plants. However, this by-product will be the next fuel to be used in Greenalia's biomass plants.
